They say travelling the world makes you wiser. Now, I don’t know if I am any wiser, but I do know that each country that I have lived in has given me incredible experiences. Dubai is a hotpot of so many diverse cultures and living here has taught me to be sensitive to those who are culturally different from I am.
Until I moved to Dubai I dint know how big a scale Ramadan is observed on in the Middle East. Ramadan is a one month of the year for Muslims to reflect on self discipline, sacrifice, humility and kindness. It is also a time for modesty. As an expat, I don’t observe Ramadan, but living here has taught me to be respectful and compassionate toward those who do. This means not eating or drinking in public and also dressing modestly.
Since Ramadan fell during May and June this year, it was the perfect to time to get my favourite maxi skirts and dresses out from the closet and enjoy some modest styling.
