Hitting rockbottom is not always a bad thing. Yes, this phrase has always been associated with being at the lowest phase of your life, but I don’t. I have decided to take up the challenge of hitting the bottom of the pan of my makeup, skincare, body and haircare bottles. Quite simply put I’ve taken it upon the challenge of finished up the products I have listed in this post.
Having worked in the beauty industry, over the years, I have accumulated a lot of products, and even after shipping off loads to my friends and family, I still have a considerable collection.
- Pros: I have a lot of things I get to try out.
- Cons: I never really finish any product, because I get excited about the new stuff and start trying it out.
In addition to this, because I love makeup so much, I also end up buying a lot of makeup, which I never end up finishing. Which now brings me to this challenge.
Here I am, challenging myself to only use the products mentioned in this post until they hit pan or the bottom of the bottle or tube.

You might think that there are quite a few products in this list. Yes, there are, but that is because I genuinely want to stick to using these products only. Knowing myself, I will get bored of using the same product and hence I am allowing myself the luxury of choice. Choice sometimes even in the same category.
The downside to that however is, the more number of products I’ve allowed myself, the longer it is going to take to use all of them up. So wish me luck!
Have you ever ever tried taking up a similar challenge? I’d love to hear how you did.

Good luck with your project. I do the same, I never get to finish products and I always get excited when I add new products in my collection and get to try them as soon as I receive them.

I always love the idea of having a lot of options and choices in makeup, the feeling is you get to look beautiful in different colours each and everyday. In reality, I never get to try them all, I tend to stay with one faithful colour all year round, just because I know that colour will make me look pretty. So I’ve learned of cutting back over the years. I walked pass the makeup counter without a glance at it … and just keep on walking … it worked for me! ๐
Love your post, it’s a really good challlenge. ๐

Good luck! I have been trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and use the makeup that I barely touch myself, I hope it works well for you xxx

Thanks Jessi, it has been interesting so far. It funny how quickly things are getting used up now that I know I can only use them, and nothing else.

That is a good challenge! I was just thinking that to myself the other day that I should use up all of one product before moving onto the next but sometimes that can be hard when you want to try new things so often!

I really like the idea of your challenge. Us beauty junkies can be so wasteful without using everything we purchase.
