I haven’t shared it on my blog before, but for the past 11 months, I have been studying fashion design at ESMOD in Dubai.
For one of my very first printing and textiles class, we were asked to create a stencil and then hand print a t-shirt using the stencil. While I had a thousand designs in mind, I decided to keep it simple and bet on myself!
I decided I wanted to write my name in Arabic on my t-shirt because I have always admired the Arabic script since it looks so artistic.?Since I don’t understand Arabic, my classmate who can speak and write Arabic helped to me translate my name and then I developed the font design as per my liking.
A fun fact is that if one doesn’t read the two dots hidden in the flower petals, then one can read the Arabic as Dubai instead of Deepti.
I decided to pair the tee with my current favourite blazer and current go to jeans.
Have you ever tried to make your own tee? I’d love to hear your experiences.
