As I am typing this, I am very aware that in less than 6 hours, we will be in the new year. 2016 has been a very interesting one for me. I learnt have a lot in the past year. A lot of good and a few not so good things have come along the way. I have also learnt a few things about myself.
I thought the best way to share my year with you would be to share my favourite moments through photographs so here they are.
Visiting L.A. for the first time.
Meeting Davis Factor, creator of Smashbox Cosmetics.?
Watching the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen from Santa Monica beach. The colours in the sky are unreal.
Living the Pretty Woman dream walking through Rodeo Drive
I clearly couldn’t get enough of Santa Monica Pier
I always wanted to work in fashion, so started taking a Fashion Design course with ESMOD in April 16. This is the first sketch I ever made.
One of my favourite assignments: We were given random scraps of paper and asked to dress our model on paper with the scarps. I came up with this.
Visiting the Acropolis, Athens.
Dawn in Santorini. I took this picture when I went on a 6am trek all by myself. For some reason, it felt very empowering to just grab the camera and go out and explore by?myself.
The sunset in Santorini was breathtakingly beautiful
Visiting Morocco for the first time.
My name means light and florescence.?Probably why I’m always fascinated by light stores. This particular store in the old souq of Marrakech was a real delight for the eyes.?
I took this photograph when I was meeting my friends from university after a long overdue catch-up. It was one of the most gossip filled evenings I have had all year.
This skirt was a proud girl moment. This was the first skirt I made at ESMOD.
We visited my husband’s family’s farmhouse in the country side in India for a long weekend in November. At first it was hard to be without internet, but at night we all sat by the fire and relax. The the sound of fire crackling is oddly therapeutic. Watching the fire crackle made me feel the calmest I have in this entire year.?
Visiting the Empty Quarter, the largest continuous sand desert in the world. Watching hundreds of sand dunes for as far as your eyes can see is really an unforgettable sight.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this post and have a very Happy New Year wherever you are in the world!
