So, this post is going to be on all the oils I use in my beauty regime. I use oils in 3 differnt areas of my beauty regime, and I have broken it down accordingly.
Skincare:
Growing up, I had extremely oily skin and so I used to be extremely careful when I would layer any oily product on my skin. My skincare mostly consisted of light serums and gel based moisturisers. However, as I have grown older, my skin has become more normal to combination. I now feel like my skin can take an oil based product.
When I was in L.A., I bought the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil. As the name suggests, it’s meant to be a night time oil and is very rich. It is blue in colour, and leaves the skin feeling quite oily which makes it not the easiest skincare product to use during the day, under your makeup.
However, in the past few months that have been using it, I have noticed considerable improvement in my skin. My skin is clearer and also feels brighter.
Makeup:
I love a little bit of glow when I put my makeup on, and I recently discovered the perfect product for that instant from within glow- the Smashbox Primer Oil.
Typically, I would be really nervous about putting on oil underneath my makeup, but this oil is made to be used under makeup. It blends in the skin immediately, and yet manages to give the makeup a healthy glow. My skin also feels more supple since I have started using this primer.
Also I’ve noticed that my skin is able to take both Luna and this Primer Oil without any negative reaction.
Hair”
Being Indian, growing up, I din’t watch my mother applying a lot of makeup, but the one beauty routine that was etched in my head, was applying hair oil every weekend. When I was little, my mum used to massage my scalp with coconut oil. However, I was never a big fan of the smell of it, and hence, during my teen years, I switched to almond oil and have since used it on my hair.
I’ll admit, living in Dubai has made it slightly easier to get certain products from back home and Vatika is my favourite brand of hair oil. I often leave it on for a couple of hours and then was it off and find that it leaves my hair feeling soft and moisturised.
What do you use beauty oils for, and what are your favourite kinds, I’d love to know about them too.
