Happy New Year everyone! For those who may not know, today is also my blog’s first anniversary!
We decided to start the New Year by watching the first sunrise of the year in the mountains. Here it is.
I have decided to start the year with few changes to better my life. However, I don’t want to call them resolutions as I want them to be realistic changes rather than making resolution and not turning them in to actions.
1. Be a Better Listener
I often feel that as expressive as I am, I need to work on my listening skills. I am rooting for 2016 to be the year, when I listen to what people have to say, rather than just hearing them.
2. Blog more
Today my blog is a year old. 2015 was a year with many big changes for me, which meant that I was busier than usual. Looking back, I had great ideas that I would have liked to see to fruition, if I had more time.
This year, my plan on being more organised and scheduling my posts, so that I can blog more often!
3. Go for a run at least three times a week
This is where it gets tricky. For those of you who exercise regularly, this may not seem like a big deal. However, I have never been big on any kind of exercise, and my Dubai lifestyle is finally catching up with me! I work long hours, so if I run even for 3 days a week to start out, I will be very proud!
4. Manage to read at least 2 books every quarter
Again, this may not sound like much, but it’s really terrible, that ever since I have moved to Dubai, I don’t read much. Not at all almost! Reading used to once be my favourite thing to do, and I want to recite this great habit. I’m keeping the number realistic as two books are better than none.
5. Cook at home at least thrice a week
Of late, I have been working really late hours and haven’t been cooking at home at all. I used to enjoy cooking at home, and its just a healthier lifestyle. So Masterchef, watch out! (Just kidding)
6. Cut down on drinking Coke and Chocolate Milk!
Ok, this is a really naughty habit I have. I might get a lot of hate for it, but I used to be that person who needed to drink a can of coke daily. To try to steer away from this habit, I started drinking chocolate milk (don’t ask how thats better, I know it’s not). Anyway, I know they are both bad, so the plan is to stay away from both and drink as much water as possible.
So there they are, my six very personal and realistic changes. They are basic and I kept them simple so that I stick to them. I will update you at some point on how they are working out for me.
Have you made any resolutions or changes to your life in the new year?

Chocolate milk is so addictive I absolutely love it as well, I hear that they make really great chocolate coconut milk so that could be a healthier alternative maybe?! All the best sweetheart! xxxxx
