Microdermabrasion in a Bottle

December 9, 2015

Ok, so microdermabrasion has been around for a while. It is basically a more advanced way of exfoliating your skin and removing layers of dead skin by using microcrystals. It is usually a process done by dermatologists.

I did a couple of microdermabrasion sessions just before the wedding, to get that bridal glow and let me tell you, it really works. However, as much as I enjoyed that glowing skin, I am not someone who is very patient and doing this regularly involves me going to the doctor and spending at least an hour there. Also I know every time my dermatologist used to bring the device near my face, I would cringe and make uncomfortable noises although the procedure is not really painful.

Hence, when I discovered the Bobbi brown Buffing Grains for Face, I was over the moon.

What is this?

It is a bottle that has grains that are similar to the microbeads, however, it is a physical exfoliant. Meaning, it is actually a face scrub that you would rub it over your face like any other exfoliating scrub.

How long have I been using this?

4 Weeks.

How Often do I use this.

Once a week.

How do I use this?

Well, there are two ways that I have tried using this. One way is to take a little bit of the beads on your palm and then mix it with a couple of drops of water. This forms a scrub paste that you can use as a regular face scrub. The second way is to add the beads to your face wash.

The difference between the first and second ways is that using just the beads gives a more intense scrub whereas I find that using the beads with the face wash, gives a gentler scrub.

I would recommend that if you have sensitive skin, definitely first try using it with a face wash first and see how your skin feels after. I tried this at the beginning too. However, now I enjoy using the beads on their own.

The bottle has a small opening at the top, so it ensures that the beads don’t fall out and are dispensed from the bottle perfectly.

I am now definitely a fan of this product. It leaves my skin glowing and really clean. I also find that any skincare product I use after this absorbs really well into my skin.

Tell me, what other exfoliators have you tried and loved?

I actually love having the treatment done and much prefer it to the ones I have tried at home. It just feels so much more luxurious when someone else does it…

I agree, it’s more luxurious when someone else does it. This is my quick fix for times when I don’t have the time. ๐Ÿ™‚

I woke up feeling very nostalgic about celebrating Independence day at home in India. It's been well over a decade and a half since I spent it at home with my family watching the celebrations on TV in the morning and patriotic themed Bollywood movies in the afternoon, but felt a tiny bit homesick today.
So I decided to wear colours sort of inspired by the Indian flag. ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’š
