Bridal Glow

March 24, 2015

When I was a little girl, I remember looking at brides to be and seeing their face glow with radiance just before the wedding. As I grew older, I hoped that I too would look radiant with joy before my wedding.

However, when my fiance proposed, I quickly realized that wedding planning can actually be very stressful at times. This stress can take a toll on your skin, as it did on mine.

Yet, I was determined to have my ‘bridal glow’ and so I came up with a skincare regime that helped my skin look radiant before and on my wedding day.

The products I used were:

  • Aveda Botanical Kinetics Exfoliant
  • Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask
  • Lumecin

In theory, all three of these products are meant to do the same thing, make the skin more radiant. However the way each product works is slightly different.

The Aveda Botanical kinetics exfoliant is a mild exfoliant made with natural products. This is a perfect product for daily use as it is not at all harsh on the skin. Although on its own, it may not bring out a very radiant glow, regular use of this product did give me a relatively clear skin. Also, this product works well when teamed up with other products, like I did. I used it every alternate day after taking my makeup off in the evening.

The Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask is one of my all time favourite skincare products. I have used it for the past 3 years and have gone through countless bottles of it. This product is a chemical exfoliant and takes of the top layer of dead skin leaving the skin looking radiant and feeling soft. One of the reasons I like this product is that it delivers and fast! You can instantly see the improved texture of your skin.

Lumecin is the third product I used for my skincare regime. Unfortunately, it is not available very easily all over the world and I got my tube when I was living in the UK.

However, if you do manage to get your hands on this product, grab it as it’s magic! I’m not entirely sure of how it works, but you end up with a radiant glow with just one application and daily application maintains the radiance. I would apply it before I went to bed at night and leave it on overnight. The cream feels fairly moisturising and it can double up as a night cream.

Let me know what you products you use for a glowing skin.

I woke up feeling very nostalgic about celebrating Independence day at home in India. It's been well over a decade and a half since I spent it at home with my family watching the celebrations on TV in the morning and patriotic themed Bollywood movies in the afternoon, but felt a tiny bit homesick today.
So I decided to wear colours sort of inspired by the Indian flag. 🧡🤍💚
